The holder of a Master’s Degree in Political Science, Hélène Gignac has worked in the environmental sector for more than thirty years. After serving as an environmental consultant with several concerns, Mme. Gignac led the Centre de transfert technologique en écologie industrielle associé, a CCTT associated with the Sorel-Tracy Cégep, since May 2000. The Centre specializes in the recovery and processing of industrial wastes and the development of new products from industrial residues. She is a member of Écotech, (Quebec organization promoting green technologies), the Conseil patronal de l’environnement du Québec (CPEQ; the Quebec Business Council on the Environment) and is a member of the Board of Directors of ACFAS (l’Association canadienne-française pour l’avancement des sciences).
