Director - Machine Design and Productivity
A proud representative of CRIQ for 16 years, Martin Caron has worked on various projects from a number of angles—as a developer, systems architect, project manager, area manager, and, for the last five years, as R&D director for Machine Design and Productivity. He has a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering and a master’s degree in wood engineering from Université Laval.
As a leader of a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers aimed at increasing the competitiveness of manufacturing businesses, he is required to have in-depth knowledge of new technologies and to understand their impact on present and future businesses. Three-dimensional printing—through its very nature and potential for the manufacturing industry—holds an important place in CRIQ’s R&D portfolio. Every year, Machine Design and Productivity carries out more than 30 applied research mandates for businesses.
